Jeremy read Organic Farming at the Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester, graduating in 2010. He was later awarded a doctorate in Soil Science from the University College Dublin. He is passionate about the conservation of both, the natural environment and built heritage. Jeremy has worked with the Irish Climate Change Advisory Council, acted as a consultant for a soil conservation project in Uganda and appointed a Chapter Scientist for the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report, chapter on Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use. He is grateful to now have the opportunity to combine his interests, in managing the Knockelly project and promoting wider conservation.

Stone Mason & Conservation Consultant
Tom has worked with stone since 2000, following initial training with the renowned mason, Pat MacAfee. Tom has been involved with numerous projects, ranging from medieval structures such as Knockboy Church, Co. Waterford and Sean Ross Abbey, Co. Tipperary, to vernacular cottages and Georgian buildings around Ireland. In 2018, he led the first Irish team of invited stone masons to Guédelon in France. In addition to on-going, practical conservation work, Tom regularly delivers educational talks and workshops, having taught masonry and assisted in the development the associated syllabus (Fetac Level 4) for the Irish Education and Training Board. Tom most recently graduated with Distinction from West Dean (UK) with a diploma in building conservation, while being short-listed for the West Dean Trustees Award and winning the John Ashurst / Historic England Prize. Tom has been the resident stone mason at Knockelly since 2022.
